Remove technical debt
* String literals on the left
* Unnecessary initialization of variables
* Change ArrayList to using List
* Remove extra semicolons
* Empty Constructor comments
* Useless parenthesis
I also added a comment on some code that is suspicious. Not comfortable
with changing that code.
