Fix for APPC-1270
Reduced testing time from 90 seconds to 2 seconds
Removed code smell for multiple instance/static references
Added assertions and coverage for success scenarios for
all methods
Line coverage increased from 55% to 84%
Moved construction of objects to protected methods to
facilitate testing
